Recently, Denise has become interested in the historical journey of cacao, originating in the northwest Amazon and spreading globally. In 1670, the Spanish brought
pure Mesoamerican criollo cacao to the Philippines through the Acapulco-Manila trade route.
This limited release chocolate aims to showcase a flavor profile, distinct from Castronovo’s usual Latin American origins. Moreover, highlighting the Philippines, a global biodiversity hotspot
in need of conservation, adds further significance to this endeavor. This is a limited edition chocolate for the holidays.
