I have been developing recipes to use sacha inchi seeds with chocolate to make healthy snacks and help them gain popularity in the USA. For this recipe, I roasted sacha inchi seeds and then made them into a dark chocolate bark using our Sierra Nevada, Colombia 72% dark chocolate.
Sacha Inchi is a superfood seed from the Amazon that is rich in omega 3 fatty acids and large amounts of essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. In fact, they are one of the richest sources of natural protein. Sacha Inchi is also high in tryptophan, which is important for making serotonin and regulating mood and stress.
One tablespoon (15g) of sacha inchi seeds provides 4.5 g of protein (9% of your daily value) and 7.5 g of healthy fats (12% of your daily value), 1.5 g dietary fiber (6% of your daily value), and minerals iron (3% DV) and calcium (2% DV).
